2017 Chevrolet Silverado

2017 Changes

  • With the 2017 model, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab gets an increase to a 12,500-lb. trailer rating, the highest in its class.
  • Teen Driver Mode becomes standard on all models.
  • Low-speed autonomous braking gets added to the Enhanced Driver Alert Package.

The Silverado 1500 is available in a number of configurations, between six trim levels: WT (work truck), LS, LT, Customer, LTZ, and High Country, paired with three body styles: regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab.  The Silverado sports a rugged, distinctive look.  Depending on the trim level, the Silverado's grille design varies slightly, with the top-of-the-line LTZ getting a chrome treatment.

No matter which model you choose, every Silverado features a well-designed interior with a sensible layout and high-quality materials. If you need a pickup, but want the creature comforts of a luxury car, the High Country model is the rig for you. This premium truck offers leather upholstery, navigation, Apple CarPlay, a killer audio system, and more!

What really defines how well a truck performs is what's under the hood, and the Chevrolet Silverado has just as much bite as it does bark, with a number of available engines and transmissions:

  • 4.3L V6 producing 285 hp and 305 lb-ft with 6-speed automatic
  • 5.3L V8 producing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft with 6-speed automatic
  • 6.2L V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft with 8-speed automatic

All three configurations are rear-wheel drive, with optional four-wheel drive available.

If you want a truck with enough muscle to tow and haul heavy loads, the Silverado handily pulls this off.  Each engine option has its own towing capacity:

  • 4.3L V6 is rated to tow up to 7,600 pounds, rated for 18 city/24 highway MPG
  • 5.3L V8 is rated to tow up to 11,000 pounds, rated for 16 city/23 highway MPG
  • 6.2L V8 is rated to tow up to 12,500 pounds, rated for 15 city/21 highway MPG

Not only does the Chevrolet Silverado get reasonable fuel economy for a full-size truck, it has a luxury car-like ride quality.  With an independent front suspension, the Silverado soaks up any impurities in the road.
