Introducing the 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500

When you think dependability, you think of the Chevrolet Silverado - the pickup that was made for truck people, by truck people. Chevy trucks have been delivering reliability and strength for the past 100 years, and that's quite a milestone.

The 2018 Silverado works harder than the competition with its best-in-class available V8-sourced horsepower and max trailering capability, as well as best-in-class standard V6-sourced torque. Not only that, it works smartest - boasting best-in-class available V8 fuel economy; offering full connectivity, including Android Auto, Apple Carplay, and Chevrolet MyLink; and a truckload of high-tech safety features.

The Silverado is a work truck that keeps on working for you. It's the longest-lasting, most dependable full-size pickup on the road. Whether you've spent a long day in the hot sun at the work site, or a long weekend at the camp by the lake, that's a legacy you can depend on.

Silverado offers a variety of configurations to fit your needs. Whichever of the eight available trims you choose, Silverado has a timeless, rugged look that will turn heads: pick from WT (work truck), LS, Custom, LT, LT Z71, LTZ, LTZ Z71, or High Country. Whatever your style, there's a Silverado that's perfect for you.

The WT trim offers a quiet, comfortable ride that's anything but basic. HID projector headlamps with LED signature lighting accents and a Rear Vision Camera with dynamic guidance lines come standard.

With the Z71 Off-Road Package, the LT Z71 and LTZ Z71 are ready for even the most unforgiving off-road terrain. Built for the roughest roads, they come with all-terrain tires, a suspension tuned for punishment with Rancho shocks, as well as Hill Descent Control and skid plates. They also have an automatic locking rear differential - a feature that isn't offered by the competition.

For a Silverado that can only be described as luxurious, the High Country trim includes premium leather-appointed heated and vented front bucket seats and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The High Country comes loaded with a Bose premium performance audio system, as well as an Enhanced Driver Alert Package.

Whatever the task, Silverado has it covered with three available engines:
  • 4.3L V6: 285 horsepower at 5300 rpm, 305 lb.-ft. of torque at 3900 rpm, 7,600 lbs. towing capacity, EPA-estimated 18 MPG city/24 highway fuel economy*
  • 5.3L V8: 355 horsepower at 5600 rpm, 383 lb.-ft. of torque at 4100 rpm, 11,100 lbs. towing capacity, EPA-estimated 18 MPG city/24 highway fuel economy*
  • 6.2L V8: 420 horsepower at 5600 rpm, 460 lb.-ft. of torque at 4100 rpm, 12,500 lbs. towing capacity, EPA-estimated 18 MPG city/24 highway fuel economy*

The available eAssist powertrain on Crew Cab LT or LTZ takes fuel efficiency to a new level. The mild hybrid technology and aerodynamic features team up with the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 engine to boost fuel efficiency to a 12% improvement.

With rock-solid steel construction and a pickup box made for a bruising, the Silverado is built to pull its weight and then some. Its pickup box floor is made from roll-formed steel, which is lighter, stronger, and longer-lasting than the competition's traditional stamped steel bed.

Available Tow/Haul Mode adjusts shifts to reduce shift cycling when you're hauling or towing big loads or moving over steep grades. If equipped with StabiliTrak with Trailer Sway Control, your Silverado automatically detects if your trailer is swaying, and applies both vehicle and trailer brakes (when equipped) to bring the trailer back in line. Available Hill Start Assist holds the brakes momentarily or until you accelerate, providing you with extra time to switch from brake to gas without rolling back under certain conditions.

Silverado can help eliminate blind spots with the available EchoMaster Trailering Camera System. It adds up to four cameras to supercharge your ability to line up your trailer and hitch when reversing. It can even help you keep watch over your cargo. Available trailering mirrors give you even further assistance in backing up and hitching your trailer.

Silverado works hard to keep you safe. Every Silverado comes with six standard air bags and a high-strength steel safety cage.

Available active safety features include: Forward Collision Alert, Front and Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Driver Seat, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking.

Silverado offers additional advanced brake assistance technologies. With available Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, Silverado provides greater control and easy monitoring of your trailer's brakes. Auto Grade Braking automatically initiates transmission downshifts to help you with braking on long downhill grades.

For your teenage Silverado driver, Chevrolet offers Teen Driver technology, which helps encourage safe driving habits for your most precious payload even when you're not there. It allows you to set speed alerts, which give visual and audible warnings when your truck is traveling over the speed you determine. Teen Driver can even mute the audio system when front seat occupants aren't wearing their seat belts. It's simple to track your young driver's performance with the industry's first, and only, in-vehicle report card. Silverado puts the safety of your family first.
